Widener University COVID-19 Tuition broke the law. The class action settlement is paying out now.

This is a real, active class action settlement. The court has approved the agreement, the administrator is processing claims, and eligible class members are being paid. All you need to do is file a claim form before the deadline.

What you can receive

Widener University settlement payments are an equal share of the Net Settlement Fund , meaning the exact amount per person depends on how many class members participate. The $800,000 gross fund will be reduced by attorneys’ fees (up to 33.3%), administrative costs (projected up to $50,000), and a representative award of up to $2,500 before the remainder is split equally among eligible class members. Payments will be sent by paper check via first class U.S. Mail, or by Venmo or PayPal if you submit an Election Form. Checks will go out within 60 days after the settlement becomes final, which will be some time after the Final Approval Hearing currently scheduled for June 30, 2026.
