1. Who we are
Claimscout, Inc. ("claimscout", "we", "us") operates getclaimscout.com and related landing pages. We help consumers in the United States identify active class action settlements and mass-tort matters they may be eligible for, and connect them with the official court-appointed administrator or a participating law firm of their choice.
We are not a law firm. We do not provide legal advice. Submitting your information through claimscout does not create an attorney-client relationship.
2. What we collect
- Information you give us via our forms: first name, last name, email address, phone number, ZIP code, state, brand audit selections, eligibility quiz answers, and your consent state.
- Technical signals automatically captured at the time of submission: IP address (which we hash before storing), user-agent string, referring URL, the consent text you saw and the timestamp, and (where applicable) a third-party verification token (TrustedForm certificate URL) that independently records what you saw and submitted.
- Cookies and similar technologies: a small number of first-party cookies for session continuity, plus aggregate analytics (page views, source). We do not run cross-site advertising trackers.
3. How we use it
- To match you against active class action settlements and mass-tort matters in our database.
- To submit your claim, with your per-matter consent, to the named administrator or law firm partner for that specific matter.
- To respond to you about the matters you asked us about.
- To maintain a verifiable consent record for compliance with the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), CAN-SPAM, and applicable state privacy laws.
- To detect and prevent fraud and abuse of the service.
4. Who we share it with
We share your information only with the named administrator or law firm partner you consented to for a specific matched matter, and only for that matter. We do not sell your contact information to "lead pools", general data brokers, or unrelated marketing networks.
We use a small number of vetted service providers (cloud hosting, transactional email delivery, third-party consent verification) under contracts that bind them to use your data only to perform that service for us.
5. Your choices
- Right to access: email privacy@getclaimscout.com and we will send you a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Right to delete: email the same address and we will delete your record within 30 days, except where we are required to retain a consent receipt for compliance.
- Right to opt out of phone contact: see our Do Not Call page.
- Right to opt out of "sale" or "sharing" of personal information (CCPA, CPRA, similar state laws): see our Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information page.
- Right to opt out of marketing email: every email we send contains an unsubscribe link.
6. How long we keep it
Claim submissions and associated consent records are retained for at least five (5) years to satisfy the FCC's TCPA recordkeeping expectations, plus any longer period required by law, and then deleted. Aggregate, deidentified analytics may be retained indefinitely.
7. Security
Submissions are transmitted over TLS. We hash your IP address before storage. Production access is limited to authorized personnel and audited. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach occurs, we will notify you without unreasonable delay.
8. Children
claimscout is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has submitted personal information to us, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the current version. Material changes will be flagged on the homepage for at least 30 days.
