Hi there,
Welcome to Mass Tort Movers, your weekly read on the class-action settlements and mass torts you might be owed money from. We watch the court dockets, the regulators and the news so you don't have to, then flag what actually moved this week and whether it could fit you. We're not a law firm, and we never charge you a cent.
This week, many people who got settlement offers in the Paraquat Parkinson's litigation turned them down. That tells you a deal was on the table and not everyone took it. The other story is about a deadline that has already passed, so if you missed it, there is nothing left to do. Both stories are about money and timing, and both show how quickly a window can close.
Paraquat Parkinson's Settlement Offers Rejected by Many
Hundreds of people with Parkinson's disease have turned down settlement offers from Syngenta, the maker of the herbicide paraquat. According to recent news reports, those plaintiffs decided the offers were not enough and will keep pursuing their claims in court. The litigation is ongoing.
If you worked with or near paraquat as a farmer, applicator, or nearby resident and later received a Parkinson's disease diagnosis, you may be eligible to file a claim. We at claimscout can help you understand your options. Visit our website to see if you qualify.
23andMe data breach settlement claims deadline passed
A multistate settlement has been reached over a 2023 data breach at 23andMe. The agreement resolves bankruptcy claims brought by state attorneys general, including Minnesota's. This means the matter is now settled. If you had a 23andMe account in 2023, you may be eligible for a small payment, but only if you filed a claim before February 17, 2026. That deadline has passed. If you did not file by then, you likely cannot get a payment now. We will share any new steps if they become available.
If either story sounds like you, it costs nothing to check where you stand, and it takes about a minute. We will be back next week with more. Until then, take care of yourself and the people you look after.
Until next week,
