Following a 2022 NIH study linking chemical hair relaxer use to uterine cancer, MDL No. 3060 consolidated cases in the Northern District of Illinois. Defendants include L'Oreal, Strength of Nature, Namaste Laboratories, Godrej and Softsheen-Carson. Cases allege uterine cancer, ovarian cancer, endometriosis and uterine fibroids from long-term hair relaxer use, particularly among Black women starting in childhood.
