Class action alleged Google used Android devices to transfer data back to Google over users' cellular data plans without explicit consent, consuming users' cellular data allotments for targeted advertising purposes. Google agreed to a $135 million settlement covering 100+ million US Android users with cellular plans since November 2017. Exclusion / objection deadline was May 29, 2026; final approval hearing is June 23, 2026. Payment is automatic for class members; the payment-election form at federalcellularclassaction.com lets you choose how to receive your share (Venmo, PayPal, Zelle, mailed check). Per-claimant amounts will be small (a few dollars) given class size.
