A court-approved settlement is paying out to people whose activity was tracked. Up to $135.
This isn't a class action invitation — it's a payout. Google Android Cellular Data Privacy was sued over unlawful tracking or sharing of your activity, the parties settled, and the court has ordered payment to affected users. You file one claim form and the administrator sends you money.
Google settlement payments are not a fixed amount per person. The settlement administrator will attempt to pay each eligible class member an equal share of the $135 million fund after deducting notice and administration costs, taxes, and any court-approved attorneys’ fees and service award s. With approximately 100 million potential class members, the per-person amount is not known yet and depends in part on how many members are successfully paid. If any funds remain after initial distribution, eligible members who were already paid may receive a pro rata redistribution up to a $100 cap per person. Payments will be sent after the court grants final approval and any appeals are resolved.
